Visit Orlando Tourism Matters

October 28, 2022

Hello,

I hope you can join us Dec. 9 for our Year-End Celebration Luncheon at the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort at Universal Orlando.

In addition to celebrating our destination’s success in 2022, we'll explore what’s ahead for Orlando in 2023, announce the Visit Orlando Magical Dining donation to this year’s charity beneficiary, The Able Trust, and more.

During the Luncheon, Chris Robinson, EVP at The Maxwell Leadership Entrepreneurial Solutions Center, also known as the Guru of Attitude, will share an inspiring keynote address. The general session will feature thought leaders from Amazon and TripAdvisor who will provide insights into how you can navigate the new digital advertising landscape to reach next-gen travelers.

Seats for this event are limited, so secure your spot early. Contact our member recruitment manager, Kelly Kinney, to secure a corporate table.

I hope to see you there!

Move Orange County Forward

In a couple weeks, Orange County residents can vote in support of the transportation sales tax referendum. If approved, the sales tax will generate $600 million each year for Orange County, roads and bridges, transit, pedestrian safety and more. The funding will also create reliable services for residents and travelers who depend on public transportation.

Return of LATAM Super FAM's

Visit Orlando and a selection of our partners and product managers welcomed Mexico and Colombia’s top-selling tour operators to the LATAM Super Fam. Participants experienced Orlando’s well-known theme parks and attractions, world-class shopping and diverse dining. The group also connected with member companies at the Visit Orlando Marketplace to learn more about our destination.

Also, Visit Orlando and the Kennedy Space Center hosted an educational seminar with Galaxy Vacations, one of LATAM’s most recognized receptive tour operators. All participants obtained a certificate of completion from our redesigned Orlando Travel Academy.

Hotel Metrics

For the week ending October 22, Metro Orlando occupancy was 83.1% up from last week’s 80.8% and much higher than the same week in 2019 (77.5%).

Average daily rate rose to $167.76 from $161.37 last week and remains much higher than pre-pandemic rates ($134.32 for the same week in 2019).
